Summary of a film

In 1957, Colonel-Doctor Irina Spalko and a convoy of Soviet agents posing as US Army soldiers who infiltrate a military base called Hanger 51 in the Nevada desert. They force Indiana Jones to lead them to a crate in "Hangar 51", which holds the remains of an extraterrestial creature that crashed ten years before in Roswell, New Mexico. Jones attempts to escape, but is foiled by his partner Mac, who reveals that he is working with the Soviets. After a fight and an elaborate vehicle chase through the warehouse, Jones escapes on a rocket sled into the desert, where he stumbles upon a nuclear test town and survives a nuclear blast by hiding in a lead-lined refrigerator. While being debriefed, Jones discovers he is under FBI investigation because of Mac's Soviet ties. Jones returns to Marshall College, where he is offered a leave of absence to avoid being fired because of the investigation. While leaving, Jones is stopped by Mutt Williams and told that his old colleague, Harold Oxley, disappeared after discovering a crystal skull in Peru.

In Peru, Jones and Mutt discover that Oxley was locked in a church-operated psychiatric hospital until Soviet soldiers kidnapped him. In Oxley's former cell, Jones discovers clues to the grave of Francisco de Orellana, a conqueror who went missing in the 1500s while seeking Akator (also known as El Dorado). At the Nazca Lines, Jones finds the crystal skull that Oxley hid in Orellana's grave. The skull is elongated in the shape that indigenous peoples formed their own skulls into; the Soviets believe the skull is from an extraterrestrial life-form, holding great psychic power. The Soviets capture Indy and Mutt and take them to the camp where they are holding Oxley and Mutt's mother, Marion Ravenwood, who reveals that Mutt is Jones's son. The four escape from the camp, leading to a lengthy vehicle chase involving sword fights and several Soviet soldiers being killed by army ants. Mutt, Marion, Mac, Oxley, and Jones ride an amphibious vehicle over a cliff and down three waterfalls, eventually finding the Temple of Akator. Claiming that he is a double agent working against the Soviets, Mac enters the temple with Jones and the group while leaving a trail for the Soviets to follow.

The group enters the temple and Jones uses the skull to open the door to a chamber tomb. Inside, thirteen crystal skeletons, one with a missing skull, are seated on thrones. When the Soviets arrive, Mac reveals that he lied about being a double agent. Spalko places the skull onto the skeleton, and it begins communicating to the group through Oxley using an ancient Mayan dialect. Jones translates this to mean that the aliens want to give them a great gift. Spalko demands to know everything, and the skulls begin firing knowledge into her eyes, causing her to shake. As a portal to another dimension appears over the room, Oxley regains his sanity and explains that the aliens are inter-dimensional beings who taught the Maya their advanced technology. Jones, Mutt, Marion, and Oxley escape from the temple, but Mac is sucked into the portal. The skeletons form into a single alien which continues to feed Spalko with knowledge; however, the knowledge overwhelms Spalko, causing her to ignite and disintegrate. The temple crumbles, and a flying saucer rises from the debris and disappears. Back home, Jones is made an associate dean and marries Marion.

Torres desperate for Spain glory

When the Euro 2008 arrives, all of the teams of the world (mostly Europe) give to the different countries (Spain, France, Portugal…) the players of his teams. But for ours, the most important player is Fernando Torres, who in these days plays with Liverpool and is one of the best players of Spain (together Casillas, Puyol, Raúl…). He has very hopes to win this title, and for this and therefore, more than ever, “A POR ELLOS!” because this year Spain has all of the best players in the best conditions.

First Essay

We almost learnt to respect our world.

Do you agree?

I think that this is a very good topic for devote a redaction, because there are good and bad people. But also you have to think about subject we are speaking, because is very different talk about the deforestation or the extinction of animal or the global warming even so the consequences are bad in all of the mentioned topics.

One the one hand, I’m going to talk about the people in particularly. There are people who think that recycling is not important and for this reason they throw all of the things in the normal rubbish. This behaviour is caused because they aren’t think about the consequences (deforestation), or, for the opposite for the ignorance. For this actually, in a lot of villages and cities, town hall of this create campaigns for teach this to the kids, and with this form, when they become an adult, use the recycling.

One the other hand there are the governments in their totality. Some of these countries with their politics go to meetings to make an agreement for the benefit of all. But the other part of these governments does not accept the agreement and they do what they want. For example, this is the case of United States with the Protocol of Kyoto; this product the pollution of the air, but as this air moves around the world, this create a general pollution

To sump up if we want a healthy world, we have to start to make a solutions for the pollution of the cars and the factories, the lack of the recycling which made the deforestations, … because if we do not find there solutions, the world can finish really, really, really bad.

Exam Essay

Too much importance is given to taking exams at school. Do you agree?

In these days, all the pupils of the high schools finish the term, there are a lot of exams. In my opinion, it is true that if the teachers don’t set too exams, the students are happier, and they haves most time for study the exams with much importance (for example: only one exam in one term).l

On the one hand, most students think that the exams are not important, and for this all pupils say that the best reduce exams and do more obligatory homework or do much work in the class. This way the students will know the subjects in the same time. Besides sometimes the exams reflect the luck of this day of some persons and his lever of memory.

Is it true that the teachers give much importance to exams?

In my experience the answer is no, because the teachers don’t see students in his house, and then the teachers know that the pupils work seriously in their house preparing the exam.

All in all, I agree with the exams. They are important, but if the teachers prepare easier exams, most students will get better marks, and they carry on his studies with motivation.

Manchester United vs. Chelsea
Sunday, 23 September 2007 in the stadium of Manchester United (Old Trafford) playing the match Manchester United and Chelsea. The coach of Chelsea now is Tal Ben Haim because Jose Mourinho resigned to the coach position. This new is the most important new before beginning the match. The match was very happy and with many occasions. The two goals in the match of Manchester United put Carlos Tevez in the minute forty-five and Saha in the minute 90 of penalty. The best player of this match was Carlos Tevez who is a new player of Manchester United this year, because the last year he played to West Ham, the Hammers. The Chelsea has played a bad match, for this he has lost this match. The refree of this match, Mike Dean has played a very good match.

Wrestlemania 24!

Since 1985 WrestleMania is the most successful, longest-running professional wrestling event in the world. It is held annually in late March or early April. WrestleMania has become one of the most prominent events in sports entertainment. Wrestlemania has facilitated the rise to stadorm of wrestler as Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Steve Austin, The Rock, and Triple H, amongst others. Numerous celebrities such as Muhammad Ali, Mr. T, Alice Cooper, Donald Trump and others have participated or made special appearances in the events. Participation in a WrestleMania match, and especially the main event, is considered by many wrestlers and fans alike as one of the greatest achievements and symbols of professional success.
The 30 of March is going to be Wrestlemania 24, which will suppose the most important even by PPV of the year, and the event which will give place to the end of the wrestling season and the pass to a new one.
One of the main events of this edition will be the match between Floyd "Money" Mayweather, who is the United States Boxing champion, vs. Big Show, who is a giant of 2 meters and 20 centimetres. But there will be other important matches, as the Triple Threat Match between Triple H, Randy Orton and John Cena for the WWE Championship, the Last Chance Match between The Undertaker and Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship, the Career Treating Match between Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels or the Match of Leagues, where a fighter of Raw (Umaga) and a fighter of Smackdown! (Batista) will fight to see which league is the best one.

John Cena & Orton vs. Raw Roster

On Monday Night Raw 18th March, John Cena and Randy Orton had to fight versus all the other wrestlers of Raw’s roster, so it was a Two Tag Team vs. Eighteen Tag Team Match!

This match was prepared by the manager of the week who was Triple H. In previous leagues Cena had organized matches as Orton vs. Orton in a Steel Cage, and Randy Orton had organized a match where Cena had to fight versus an old enemy: Pocholo Michaels.

It seems that this week’s match had to be won by Raw’s roster but it is said that the best union is one which is made by to enemies, and Cena and Orton put this expression in practice. The match was being won by the Two Tag Team until all the roster began to fight all together, so the match was stopped and the pair of fighters was proclaimed the champions of the match by disqualification.

After the match, when cams were not filming John Cena said to Randy Orton to make the peace, and shakes hands. After a pair of minutes of doubt, the Legend Killer: Orton, gives the hand to The Mariner: Cena, but as the dirty fighter Orton is, he tied to make his finish movement (The RKO, or the Randy Knocked Out) to Cena, who avoided it and make his finish movement, the Fu, to Orton.

Barça's Big Euro Test

In group E, there are four European teams how all. There are the FC Barcelona that is the favourite in this group, Olympique Lionnais that he comes to France, who is the best team in this country, Glasgow Rangers who is the best team in Scotland and Stuttgart of Germany. The worst team in this group is Stuttgart that plays in Bunds League in Germany. Barça and Glasgow Rangers are first in group and the next week, they play in the Rangers stadium for leader. History Barça have only won once in six previous meetings with Scottish opponents. In my opinion, I believe that FC Barcelona won this match.

10.-The films

As I have not seen any film in class, I put a summary of the last film I have seen: 10000

The film follows D'Leh, a young mammoth hunter of the Yagahl Tribe who is the son of a hunter that abandoned the village. It was also at that time that D'Leh witnessed the mysterious arrival of Evolet, a young girl with who prompts a prophecy from the wise old woman of the tribe, Old Mother of "four legged demons"(horses) coming to their land during the last Mammoth hunt to occur years later. D'Leh falls in love with Evolet and promises that she will always be in his heart.
Several years later, the Yagahl tribe is expecting the arrival of a mammoth herd to help them survive the winter. According to TicTic, D'Leh's trainer and a friend of D'Leh's father, whoever kills the lead male of the herd, will inherit the legendary White Spear of the North, and Evolet as well. When the mammoth herd arrives, the hunters try to capture the biggest one, but it manages to escape. D'Leh is the only one that follows him and the mammoth ends up dead when it accidentally falls on top of D'Leh's spear. Since nobody sees this, other than TicTic, D'Leh is assumed to be the leader and the winner of Evolet's love. However, TicTic is reluctant to recognize D'Leh. Being honest with what happened, D'Leh returns the White Spear.
At night, a group of raiders come in and kidnap several of Yagahl, including Evolet. The warlord leader takes a liking towards her. His main henchman, One Eye, believes that the girl is a witch who has seduced his master (his later actions hint that he might possibly be attracted to the girl as well). D'Leh decides to rescue Evolet and the rest of the Yagahl. Tic'Tic, Ka'Ren, and young Baku, whose mother was killed by One-Eye during the attack, join him. During their travels to save their people, with Ka'Ren and Baku captured by the raiders, D'Leh falls into a trap-hole where he finds a trapped Spear-Tooth. Despite being scared, D'Leh saves the cat by letting it free. D'Leh and Tic'Tic keep on walking through the desert finding the village of the Naku tribe. Just when the Naku are about to attack them, the Spear-Tooth appears, and D'Leh reluctantly confronts it. Recognizing D'Leh as the one who saved it earlier, the feline spares him and protects him and Tic'Tic from the tribe. The tribe acknowledges D'Leh as the fulfiller of the prophecy: a man who speaks to the Spear-Tooth would become savoir. D'Leh also learns the truth behind his father from Nakudu, leader of the Naku who learned the Yagahl's words from his father.
Other tribes of the area, on being convinced that the prophecy had been fulfilled, join them. D'Leh learns that Evolet and the others are being taken to the "Mountain of the gods" where they would be forced to build altars and pyramids for a mysterious god-like figure. Determined to rescue Evolet and the rest of his tribesmen (and all the other slaves), D'Leh and his friends organize an attack. D'Leh kills the tyrant god, leaving all spectators awestruck. Evolet frees herself by stabbing the warlord with an arrow. The dying warlord, out of spite, shoots an arrow at Evolet from behind killing her. However, she comes back to life to fulfill the prophecy of Old Mother, who revives her with her last breath. Nakudu, fulfilling the wishes of D'Leh's father, gives him seeds to grow and eat from. D'Leh and the rest of the Yagahl bid farewell to the Naku and return to their village. The film ends as D'Leh and Evolet observe the growth of the seedlings.

11.-Second Oral Presentation

I could not catch the second oral presentation because tha day we could catch it I was in a excursion.

6.-Frankentstein

The film and the book has some important differences:

-In the book Frankenstein has two brothers, William and Ernest, and in the film there is only one: William

-In the film Frankenstein’s mother dies when William is going to world and in the book she dies from an illness.

-In the book the monster strangles Elisabeth and in the film the monster pulls out her heart.

-In the book Elisabeth does not go to Frankenstein’s laboratory but in the film she does it.

-In the book Henry dies strangled by the monster but in the film is not shown how the monster kills him.

-In the book Elisabeth gives the chain to William but in the film William takes the chain from Elisabeth.

-In the book Frankenstein is out of Geneva, when he receives a letter saying that William is dead but in the film Frankenstein is in Geneva when William dies.

-A difference I think is very false is that Frankenstein in the book does not revive Elisabeth but in the film he does it.

5.-First Oral Presentation

Sorry, but I had tecnical problems. First of all I only had a part of the video that you filmed because the other one was in miriam's cam and it did not work, and second; the part you filmed is in a format that can not be read.

12- Description.

David Batista:

David Michael Bautista, better known as Dave Batista or by the ring name Batista, is a wrestler of World Wrestling Entertainment Company. Nowadays he takes part in the roster of Smackdown!, one of the leagues of the wrestling company.

Batista is a three-time World Heavyweight Championship and the winner of the 2005 Royal Rumble match, one of the most important wrestling events of the year.

Batista is of Filipino and Greek heritage. His year of birth was disputed for several years. His website originally listed him as being born in 1969, while several contradictory news reports claimed that he was actually born in 1966. In March 2006, Batista stated in an interview that he was born in 1969. He confirms the same in his autobiography "Batista Unleashed".

He is very strong; he is one of the most powerful wrestlers of the moment, and also one of the most famous.

He had worked as culturist before beginning as a wrestler. He has won a lot of championships and titles since he began as a wrestler in 2002. Those are the main ones between others:

-United States Championship.

-WWE Tag Team Championship.

-World Heavyweight Championship (the most important)

-Royal Rumble Winner 2005.

-Match of the Year (2007) vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania 23

To me Batista is the wrestler of the moment, and I think that he has not got good luck, because every time he could win very important championships he has get injured or accused of doping, although later it has been discovered that were lies expanded by wrestlers that were afraid of him.

Dear Mrs,

We have been doing batxillerat for four months, and we are writing you to complain about a situation which has taken place many times in these months.

The fact is that when there is no teacher at the hour before or after de break time we can not go out of the college and make the break time larger.

We just know that the college is the responsible of our security if something wrong takes place in classes’ time, but we thought the rules could change.

In our opinion, this change could be made, and it should suppose a larger break time and the non necessity of sending a guard teacher in these hours.

We would be interested in receive a letter explaining what is your opinion of these changes.

Yours sincerely,
